Looking back through time, we find that we are

CONVICT DESCENDANTS!

So, how did we get here?

In 1866 a ship named CORONA arrived in Western Australia carrying one of our ancestors.

His name was Dennis Carr.

Dennis was born at approximately 1835 and died on the 19th April 1895. Today, records suggest that Dennis lay buried in St Francis Xavier Cemetery (145 burials at this cemetary), Geraldton, Western Australia. There are also a number of persons (early settlers/convicts) that were buried at the "Apex Park" Geraldton and there is a commemorative plaque at Apex Park which includes the name "Dennis Carr".

Dennis Carr had a hard life yet we can also see that he had an adventurous life. As the storey unfolds it also becomes apparent that there have existed certain ties between the English shores and Australian mainland that have continued to this very day.

Dennis's father, Henry Carr, was born at Middlesex London. Dennis's mother, Frances Dignum, was born in Ireland.

Dennis had been convicted for a number of offences in England and ultimately deported to Australia. His convictions may certainly have been a result of the very difficult times in England at the time, as people were often lured to petty crime for reasons of survival and leniency was not common.
